Asparagus. I love cooking it with minced garlic and eating it over couscous.
Someone is going to have fun pulling those topics!
Green beans with toasted almonds.
Pickles. I love pretty much all veggies though.
Green beans, tomatoes, and pickles (cucumbers) are fruits, not vegetables! If it has seeds, it’s part of a plant’s reproductive system, not its vegetative structure (leaves, stems, and roots).
Ok, that’s it for today’s Pedantic Post. Thank you for indulging me, everyone.
Ok, keep it civil people.
I don’t think I can pick just one, but in the top 10 are broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower and Great Northern beans.
I would also add in mushrooms, but technically, they’re not vegetables, because they’re fungus.
@tom_g Who’s not being civil? I made fun of myself – I even jokingly described myself as “pedantic” – and I light-heartedly thanked everyone for putting up with me. What isn’t civil about that?
I think big daddy dill was jokin, :p
@Symbeline Ha! Maybe so. I guess we’re all having fun and keeping it light.
If he wasn’t joking though, good thing he’s not a mod. XD
And keeping it light, was that some kind of pickle oriented joke? be civil, dammit XD
Okie dokie, artichokie. (Hilarious and profound!!!)
damnation, I’ve been had!
Sadly, I am not terrifically fond of vegetables. I am trying to incorporate them into my diet more lately. I am okay with leafy vegetables (a spinach or romaine salad is delicious) and can eat potatoes made just about any way, but most vegetables have a texture or earthy taste that disagrees with my palate. In soups, however, I can eat most veggies.
Potato (normal or sweet) and brocolli
