A Nickname Request!! Can you help me come up with a cute nickname?
I have a friend whose name is “Ghada”. I think it’s arabic in origin.
Anyway, she’s been nagging me to find her a cute nickname and honestly I am not good in coming up with such things.
So, it’d be great if anybody can help me with that and save me in the process :P
Thanks in advance :)

Does she have any characteristics that would lead to a nickname? Loopy? Giggles? Slim?
Well, she can be mysterious at times if that helps
She’s funny and smiles a lot
She can also be sarcastic at times too
Ghada Go
Ghada DaVida
Ghada Getaway
No.
I don’t know if it’s possible to come up with a nickname for someone. Nicknames just sort of happen spontaneously.
Jada would be a bit like her own.
Or this very Italian first name: Giada (Giada De Laurentiis, a famous chef).
What @SadieMartinPaul said. And I don’t understand the emphasis on nicknames, anyway. The person’s actual name will work just fine.
“One of the best Arabic names for women, Ghada means “graceful woman” in Arabic.”
“According to the Arabic dictionary “Ghada is the soft and beautiful little girl”
... Given to the Camelia flower to indicate the soft and radiant beauty of the flower. So, historically the name given to a beautiful female child or a beautiful woman…”
NIcknames evolve. But you could call her “Grace,” a close translation of the Arabic into English.
Does she simply want an Anglicized name? Or does she want an actual nickname which usually refers to a characteristic about the person like Speedy or Precious.
If she wants an Anglicized sounding name that sounds similar to hers, you could choose Gina, or Donna, or Lana, or Gala.
I think she should keep her real name, though, unless she is getting grief about it, because it sounds Arabic (which might scare some people if they don’t know her).
I like @snowberry‘s suggestion Jada. It’s kind of jazzy and fun.

What about just “G” or GiGi.
Well, since @gailcalled noted that: “Ghada means “graceful woman” in Arabic.” why not call her “Grace”..?
Yes I know and I wasn’t suggesting, I was confirming gailcalled’s post that Grace is a good choice.. My apologies for not being clear.
