Wasn’t it a navy blue jelly fish looking thing?

I think that’s the first one to pop into your avatar space, yes.
But how come I see different people using the stuffed mouse avatar? I thought I was reading Supermouse in this OP, then I found out it was being used by 3 other people. I thought it is meant to be a distinguishing/identifying feature.
See here for an explanation of the mouse.
Supermouse left Fluther. Several of us have temporarily adopted her avatar as a tribute to her.
^^ I hope she comes back. Not since Yarnpocolypse, have I seen so many of the same avatars.
The first stuffed mouse is SuperMouse in that OP. 3 days ago.
Isn’t the software supposed to detect when an avatar is already taken, just like when picking out a username?
No, we don’t monitor for duplicate avatars.
There are a few different default avatars you can pick to start with. A handful of different jellyfish, and one rather freaky-looking black kitten
@downtide thanks.
I would pay tribute to someone by leaving them to their chosen avatar,
by giving them great answers to their questions, including finding and posting relevant links,
by helping them with their favorite charities,
among other ways.
.
Well…... she’s gone, so that doesn’t make sense. Gone, as in, she left. She’s not on the site anymore. She deleted her account. And she’s gone because she got tired of feeling attacked by a handful of really rude jellies who think it’s their place to say theists are delusional, insane, etc…
So, several of us decided to use her avatar for a while, as a show of support. It’s like we are saying we know why she left, and we don’t agree with what happened to her.
@flo Everyone is free to choose how they show support. You can do it the way you prefer, and others can do it by ‘wearing’ her avatar. No biggie.
I am supposed to edit my OP:
What do you call it when a company tries to be mistaken for another company?
By using similar logo similar name etc.? Piggybacking? What is the legal term for it?
I’m told the question is a duplicate. Okee dokee.
YES! Which is why I already said “Supermouse left Fluther” up higher in this thread. I’m not sure why you’re having such a difficult time understanding this.
<bangs head on desk>
At the time you wrote that you have been using her avatar for a while not just a day or so. But she was just here 1 week ago.
I did not say “have been.”
“Several of us decided to use her avatar for a while” meant that we have decided to use her avatar for a while.
I really do not understand why you are so confused about something so simple. Let me explain this like we’re in kindergarten.
Some jellies were really mean to her.
She deleted her account.
Some of us miss her.
We support her reason for leaving.
Some of us are going to use her avatar for “a while.”
How much clearer can I be? Do you seriously not get what I’m saying, or are you dragging this out and pretending to not understand for a reason?
@WillWorkForChocolate I already addressed that though, that is the thing. Counter point the points I made, if you can.
And ” I really do not understand why you are so confused about something so simple. Let me explain this like we’re in kindergarten.” doesn’t cut it.
Oh dear God. I’m done here.
