BREAKING BAD is coming back for its finale. I can’t wait.
But I’m also a little sad that it is coming to an end (as all good things must do eventually.)
Do you think they’ll let Walter live ?
Does Walter deserve to live ?
What are your thoughts and feelings ?

I knew exactly what you were talking about when I saw the date! Of course. Can’t wait!
My two favorite shows are ending, Breaking Bad and Dexter. I’ve already lost The Office and 30 Rock this year. What will I do? Have you seen Vikings? Such a great new show, and the lead character looks just like Jax (from another favorite show of mine). Out with the old and in with the new, I guess.
Anyway, back to Breaking Bad. I would be surprised if Walter didn’t die at the end of the season. I’d like to see Jesse live, but what kind of a future can he have? Poor guy needs a break.
@jonsblond
I’m not familiar with Vikings. What time and channel is it on?
Yeah I’m also a Dexter watcher. Both of these shows had me totally hooked from the very first episode.
I’m trying to get into Ray Donovan which immediately follows Dexter but its rough going.
Liev Schrieber is a terrific actor (as is Jon Voigt) but there are so many other characters its hard to keep track of who’s who. I watched the first episode and have all of them so far recorded. So we’ll see.
@bob
That’s ok. To each his own. We still lurve you :)
I was thinking about giving Ray Donovan a try because I like Schrieber and Voigt. I don’t know though, I think the great shows have you hooked from the beginning. That’s how I was when I first saw Breaking Bad, and I started from the second season. I never did see the first season! At least not all of it (I saw a few repeat episodes).
Vikings is on the History Channel. The second season doesn’t start until 2014, after the holidays. That will give you time to get caught up.
Back to Breaking Bad. We know Saul doesn’t die, he might be getting his own show. I like Odenkirk and I love Saul, but I’m not sure about a spin-off. Do you think it would do well?
Never heard if it, so no.
Nope. Haven’t tuned in to any television since the NBA season ended.
@Headhurts and @hearkat
You guys are missing one of the best shows on TV period
If you get the chance to catch up on Netflix or something where you can watch it from the beginning, you won’t regret it.
@jonsblond
I’ll watch Odenkirks show but if they don’t have the same writing team, that would be iffy.
You have definitely got to try to get a hold of the first season of BB. There was some really outrageous shit going on. Really dark humor. Really funny.
But as the seasons progressed there was less of the humor element for obvious reasons.
Although the death of Gus was humorously macabre with that profile shot where you think he’s ok at first. That was genius.
In previous years they’ve done repeats of previous seasons in marathon format prior to the start of each new season.
But they don’t seem to be doing that now. Most likely don’t want to hurt the DVD sales.
Are they currently doing any reruns of Vikings now or would they likely wait till closer to the start of the next season?
I recently said, “I’ve worked very hard to eliminate drama from my real life, why would I want to passively participate in contrived drama?” My son does watch that show, and he is looking forward to its return.
I’m assuming they will show repeats in the fall @Buttonstc. I haven’t seen anything recently.
I fell asleep last night watching Breaking Bad. I looked at the guide around midnight and noticed they were showing episodes from 2010, so I put it on. Gus was still alive. :)
I really enjoy the actor who plays Gus. He’s now on the show Revolution, another show we watch, and my husband and I still call him Gus. He’ll always be Gus to us.
You know, I just realized we are throwing out spoilers here if anyone isn’t caught up. Uh oh!
@jonsblond . . . You forgot to mention that Kyle (our 19 year old) nearly cried when Mike died.
I’M SO EXCITED I’M EVEN USING CAPITAL LETTERS!
Yeah, man…can’t wait.
I need to see some recaps. I’ve forgotten so much.
@Blackberry Thanks!! I know what hubby and I will be watching this weekend!
@Cupcake
On AMC they’re having a weekend of showing a whole bunch of past episodes starting this Friday (tomorrow actually) at 3 PM with “Boxcutter”. If you don’t remember why it’s titled that, you really are in serious need of more than just a recap :)
I’m assuming that the last rerun episode will be the one where they left off with. Hank finds the book inscribed with the initials WW and you can see him starting to put two and two together. (Hard to believe that meticulous Walt was that careless :)
Check your listings.
I know what I’ll be doing for most of this weekend :)
And I know I’ll pick up on little details or significant words or parts of conversation that passed me by when I watched it before.
I hardly ever watch reruns of anything, TV or movies because I just get bored.
But this is such a densely written and meticulously plotted show that I usually watch episodes several times and never fail to find some interesting extra detail.
I will really miss this show when it’s done. But I’m glad they’re going out while theyre still at the top of their game instead of waiting until quality declined and viewership dwindled to where they have to pull the plug. That happens all too frequently with many other shows.
But quality shows like this one are rare gems indeed.
@Buttonstc I wish we had cable just for this! Alas, we’ll have to watch youtube recaps and purchase the remaining episodes the day after they air.
I like reading recaps online after watching an episode because I learn so much about references I missed or ongoing themes, etc. I agree about the quality of the show. Although there are some scenes, like toddlers in footie pajamas, that I could live without seeing again.
Fortunately there aren’t a wholeot of scenes like that. But to leave them out would be disingenuous indeed.
I have seen real life documentaries of police raids on home Merh labs and they’re tripping over toys, binkys and baby bottles all over the floor of the room directly next to the cooking kitchen while social workers are carrying crying toddlers, babies and kids out of the house trying to comfort them.
And the cooking going on us not food.
Not only are these idiots risking destroying themselves if an explosion occurs with the highly volatile ingredients but they obviously don’t give a damn about the kids either (not to mention the kids being continually exposed to the toxic fumes. The adult idiots usually have enough sense to puts masks on their own faces but the hell with the kids.)
This program, even tho pretty grim, is still a sanitized version of what happens to kids in real life with Methhead parents. The vast majority of the action is mostly focused upon adults only, fortunately.
