How often do you do a deep clean (your home)

Asked by Mama_Cakes (11173points) August 3rd, 2013

Wash the floors, wash the mirrors and clean the toilets. Stuff like that.

When I’m home, I do it once a week. Every day the dishes are done, the bed is made and the floors are swept, though. I like it that way.

You?

Now that I read your answer @Mama_Cakes I am too embarrassed to say! I am going red, you can probably lick off your floors!

I have a couple here every other week. Otherwise, I keep things tidy, in general, sweep the kitchen floor daily: I generally don’t do anything to warrant washing my mirrors.

I also do spotcheck cleaning…a few smudges on exterior windows, vacuuming the car, tidying up the kitchen and MIlo’s area (most of the time) before I go to bed, putting clean water in flower vases, and doing regular sweeps for dead mice and cat barf.

I use the “what-if-I-had-an-accident-and had the EMTs-here” criterion for both the house and the state of my underwear.

I clean the whole house once week, windows, cupboards, floors included. I clean the kitchen every day, and always make sure the toilets, sinks, and bath is clean. I like it this way also. I really like a clean home.

@Headhurts Windows once a week? That seems excessive. I do them once every Spring.

Bathrooms: Toilets once a week. Bathtub/shower, counters, mirrors, once a week if used daily, sometimes that stretches to longer. Other showers less often. Can be as little as once a month.

Kitchen counters almost daily I am wiping them, I cook almost every day. Sometimes I just wipe with a soapy sponge or a natural spray cleaner. Maybe once or twice a week I use something like Pinesol on the counter. Also, once a week, I clean out the microwave, wipe the fridge, really clean the stove well. But, in the kitche sometimes things happen and you just have to clean right away you know? Then I don’t still clean again that week. I don’t have a very specific schedule for cleaning, what I wrote above is just how it tends to work out.

Sweep kitchen floors twice a week. Mop them and other floors in the house 2–4 times a month. Vaccuum usually once a week, but every so often I go a little longer.

@Mama_Cakes Only the inside, and in the summer. Probably once a month in the winter.

I have a lady that comes every week. If my husband is lucky ill make the bed (he gets up before me.)
I only sweep in between if its obviously dirty. I’ve got all hard floors with rugs so sweeping takes a long time.

@cookieman Very domesticated. Sounds like you have a good system.

I’ve been so lazy with house work lately. I used to deep clean once a week, but lately I’ve been half-assing it. Next week I’ll be cleaning the hell out of it – can’t wait.~

I do dishes and straighten up daily, though.

We don’t have a system at all. We pretty much only clean like that when things bug us enough to want to clean or when people are coming over. We both hate housework. Hate it!

Not too often.

I hate cleaning. I was with a tour group in Israel and we were at some excavation site when I realized, “This is why you’re supposed to dust! Years of not dusting and you end up under ground!”

I mostly hate house work. But I also can find it relaxing and enjoy the results. I will go on binge cleaning that might involve cupboards and file cabinets door frames spot washing walls etc.

Mostly I do weekly cleaning and keep things neat between then. Clothes off the floor sink wiped down etc.

I do occasionally get so busy I will leave dishes or generally have stuff piled out.. mail projects; books, painting, knitting etc. Different types of gear for various activities.

Plants and other stuff that need regluar maintainance I am fairly good about.

We pay someone to do it every 2 weeks. With 7 people and 5 cats in the house, outsourcing cleaning keeps the peace.

weekly for what you stated.

Deep Cleaning is monthly of going room by room over everything.
