Can my iPhone really be fixed?
A few days ago, it rained really hard, I was cycling at the time and had my iPhone in my rucksack. When I got home it was drenched. I have only had it 2 months, I was really upset.
Anyway, I sent it to someone to be repaired. It only cost £10. He said it is working perfectly now, although he did have to replace the battery.
Can a water damaged iPhone really work perfectly again?

I have had this happen to me and heard many cases of it.
I had one drenched the same way while biking. I also had a smaller Ipod go through the wash.
I placed them in a bowl of rice each time and tried them the next day and they were and are still fine.
I have had this occur with other device (blackberry, droid, etc) with no such luck.
Being an avid biker and hiker my devices are just prone to this dampness. Its not like I have jumped in the pool with my phone in my pocket either.
It can be fixed if it can be fixed. If it can’t, then it can’t.
I have fixed wet cell phones that didn’t pass the “Float” test by putting it on the dash board of my car, and running the defroster. The bowl of rice trick also works.
In the future, a Ziplock Baggie works wonders. Shields from moisture yet you can still operate the phone even tho inside of it.
On a lighter note, I fell into the Susquehanna River with my cell phone. When it dried out, text messaging suddenly started working. The thing is, that function had never worked before until I dunked the phone.
I have met so many people whose phones have stopped working, it finally occurred to me to offer a service to them. I began to suggest that they let me take their phones to the Susquehanna and dunk it in there, so it would work too.
Nobody has ever taken me up on it. I don’t know why.
@snowberry They just need to accept the healing that baptism by ‘ooops’ can provide!
