Which are the worst European countries to teach EFL and why?

Russia, Greece, and some other Eastern European countries that use a different alphabet. It means you have to teach them to decode the sounds of the western alphabet. I would think that is an obstacle that makes it harder.
Not necessarily. I learned to read Cyrillic and so did my son. At one point we both needed to go back to the hotel, which was in walking distance. We very carefully sounded out what turned out to be Tchaikovsky and we found our way back to the hotel and back to the bus. I realized I could pronounce what I read, but we were just lucky that it turned out to be a word we knew.
