In case you haven’t noticed, Google has honored Erwin Schrödinger with a Google Doodle. Since his name (and that poor old cat) come up with amazing regularity on this site, I say we probably should stop, raise a glass, and wonder about his cat.

I’m doing it right now. He is either here to enjoy it, or not. Which one? “Frankly, Scarlet, I don’t give a damn.”
I was going to but it was dark in the box and I got scared. Besides, that damned cat wouldn’t shut up. Yowling and wriggling about!
Spoony THE Cat drank a toast of water to Schrodinger tonight. She saluted him for having been dead for so long after having conceived of treating a cat in such a manner. For crying out loud, she meows, just build a glass box with a light that comes on when the radioactive sample decays. No need to kill a loyal and sublime cat, Spoony says.
