A nice resort in Costa Rica?

We are trying to plan a trip to Costa rica for early next year. Any flutherites recommend a really nice resort?

The newer resort area is Guanacaste on the northern coast and there is an airport right there. I think there are several big resorts there. There is an older area of resorts near Manual Antonio Park on the southern coast.

We made a trip there about 8 years ago and did our own tour; two night in Arenal at Tabacon Hot Springs, two night in Monteverde at the cloud forest and two nights in Manual Antonia. Each area had different things to offer. The hotels we stayed in were pleasant but sort of non-descript so I don’t have a resort name to give you.
