How far can one homeschool for credit?
In Alberta one can homeschool to grade 12 and you can take the diploma exams for $26.75 a test. I would like to know if I can homeschool past high school, like a trade, or university degree. I think Cambridge , and Athabasca University might do something like that, where you take the university exams… Can I get a higher level with home-schooling?

There are several Colleges that will accept “testing out” of classes for credit. In the U. S. many credit classes are offered online. You can even get college degree online, but it costs nearly as much as attending college in person.
The “college at home” can cost more than classes on campus ( but room and board would drive the cost up even higher.)
@Tropical_Willie What with student fees these days, which supposedly include admission to athletic events, sometimes parking, and who know what all, classes online are probably charper.
There are whole University systems that are based on on-line classes – for instance DeVry and Phoenix.
For trades like plumbing, electrician, etc. you need hands-on training and not home schooling.
Here are the specific guidelines and requirements in Alberta for becoming a plumber, for example. They are stringent and rigorous.
Technical training is arranged by Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training and is currently offered at:
Grande Prairie Regional College in Fairview
Medicine Hat College
Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) in Edmonton
Red Deer College
Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary.
Many of my home schooling friends have had their kids taking courses via Athabasca.
There are lots of university which are providing online & offline degree program in every year. You can fill form by online or offline mode for maximum university. And, just little search on internet you will get the whole procedure of admission of any university.
