Winning the lottery, or hearing mom’s cancer will never come back for sure. I can’t think of much else that would get that large a reaction.
My husband getting a new job with a salary that would enable me to not work and a positive pregnancy test.

As it happens, I am outside, on my deck under a blue sky, bright sunlight,a slight breeze, low humidity and 74˚ F. My knees don’t hold with jumping much these days, but my hearts feels light. And hark, there are several red-tailed hawks soaring on the thermals.

What saddened me this morning, on this perfect day, was the dead fledgling (thrush or veery) on my deck. He apparently flew into one of the glass sliders once too often.

@wildpotato: No, for several reasons. First, it’s been several years since this has happened and second, half my house is glass, so I would have to package everything up very much like a Christos wrapping.
