And why?
If you don’t mind, please state your current country of residence.

Northern England. I think it’s just so lovely.
Japan. Access to all the porn I could want.
I live in US. If I had the money and were ousted from the US, I would pick Sweden or Switzerland, or Ireland or England. Probably first choices would be England and Ireland, because there would be no language barrier.
I’d live in Canada because its only an hour away.
I like Wales. I was injured on the first day of my last trip so I missed out using the picturesque hiking trails and places with names common in literature.
I’d like to live in the USA. It just seems like a great space to be in. I’d choose a warm country town. I live in the UK.
I would live in France any day, I live and the US and went to Paris, France a few years ago and loved it.
I’d like to try Australia I think. I live in the USA. There are countries in Europe I find appealing also, but the climate is a turn off, I tend to like it warm.
Somewhere in the Caribbean, because I fancy myself as a poirate.
I’m in the Netherlands and would really love to go home to the USA.
I live in the UK and I’d really rather not live anywhere else, even though I complain incessantly about the weather. I don’t even think I would like to live in a different city, except maybe London (as long as I had the means to pay for it).
If money was no object (say I had a huge lottery win or something) I would buy apartments in London and New York, but I probably wouldn’t live permanently in either of them.
Somalia. The locals seem nice.
France. Or Italy. Good weather, good food, liberal atmosphere, and as they used to say in newspaper ads, mod cons.
I live in the US, but I always talk about moving to Ireland. Although… since my issues with weather just seem to be getting worse, I’d love to move somewhere with comfortable temps year round. A friend of a friend moved to Panama last year, and she says the weather is perfect there. Sounds good to me!
Japan. Second choice would be Saipan.
I loved it.
Costa Rica has fabulous beaches, remarkable jungles and wildlife and friendly, beautiful people. Give me a place there on a bluff overlooking the ocean, but high enough to be out of reach of storm surges from hurricanes. Also, the healthcare system there is slightly better than that of the USA and far less costly.
There are three countries I would move to for their beauty and access to numerous outdoor activities. Canada, Scotland or New Zealand.
I live in the US.
@jonsblond I’d move to Scotland for the beauty, and just to sit in busy places and listen to the charming accent of everyone around me.
Canada. I enjoy the general attitude of the Canadians, their sense of humor, relaxed nature and civility. As the world heats up I would prefer the cooler weather there as well.
Canada, Iceland, or the United Kingdom (probably in that pecking order.)
I live in Mexico.
I’d like to live in the US (in California, to be more specific), because of the nice weather; in Italy, because of the relaxed lifestyle; and in the Netherlands or Sweden, because of the hot chicks.
I grew up in the US and then moved to New Zealand and now reside in Norway. I would move back to New Zealand in a second if I could.
Victoria, British Columbia
Don’t know on a beautiful isolated island! Lol I’m not a very social person. Currently live in the USA.
I have lived in Norway now for 11 years and it has never, ever felt like home. New Zealand will always be home.
I want to know what I did to get kicked out of the country, I hope it was at least fun. If I had to leave america, I’d probably go to south korea.
The language barrier would be a major problem but this question is hypothetical right, you don’t know something do you? They aren’t really coming for me are they?
If I had to move from the US, and I had an income stream of popular world currency, a satellite phone and Internet, and an 80ft sloop or schooner, I would park myself in the Cook islands, or Micronesia because of the sun, no snow ever, and nice people.
Thailand, Indonesia, Costa Rica…or maybe Switzerland.
Canada and Australia seem like interesting places to live.
@bunnyslippers That thing you told me in that place that one time? Yeah, I told them about it, and they didn’t like it. Don’t try to run; they’re already on their way.
@WillWorkForChocolate I know they forced you to tell them, don’t worry. They’ll never catch me anyway, I already wiped my hard drives and I’m headed for the escape hatch as we speak. Good thing I keep a bag packed and a pile of fake IDs from when I was working for the CIA.
I currently live in England but my first choice of residence (even above England) would be the west of Scotland. Does that count? I love the scenery more than anywhere else I have been in the world.
