For those who have experience with Adobe Lightroom can you help me?

I’m having trouble visualizing exactly what to use Lightroom for. Basically the way I imagine it is it’s a photo editor application.

What’s the difference between this and Photoshop?

Is it mainly for treating a photograph vs editing it and doing magic tricks with the photograph?

Is it more of a “apply presets” kind of application?
