An slightly in depth book that covers world political history through-out the 20th century. I’m not really interested in political thought just the historical events.

You want a book on political history that doesn’t discuss politics? Huh?
Just the facts… With no slant I’d imagine. I would gravitate towards a politically independent author as the “Republocrats” generally are too polarized to notice anything else but themselves and their distaste for each other. That’s all I got, good luck on your quest!
@inunsure There may be such a book, but I am not aware of it. A completely partisan author trying to write a totally non-partisan book would need to write a bunch of blank pages. It’s up to you to write the book. Read what each side is really saying, then decide for yourself which one is accurately reflecting the truth of what’s really going on.
@ETpro Too true. It’s sad that our nation is so polarized that finding “facts” that haven’t been tampered with is rather hard to do.
@inunsure If you want raw honesty, google Ron Paul.
@DWW25921 Ron Paul is an enigmatic mix of ra honesty and unmitigated bull shit.
@ETpro Yes, he’s nuts. But he’s usually right. I mean, I wouldn’t try to argue with him.
He’s wrong about the gold standard being a magical panacea and I’d happily argue about that. There are a host of other things I’d argue with him, but if you think he’s right about everything then I guess I’d need to argue with you, because he doesn’t appear to be on Fluther. More’s the pity. If you wish he were, there I would agree with you.
@ETpro No one is going to agree with every topic. That’s fine, even normal. That’s why we compromise. I just think he’d be better for the job than the guy we have now, and the one before him! Our presidents seem to get progressively worse no matter what their party affiliation is.
@DWW25921 When it comes to actually upholding the Constitution and separation of powers, I completely agree with you there.
