Have you had memory/concentration problems from medication?

I don’t have quite as good concentration as I used to. I don’t know for sure that it’s because of Celexa, but I think it might be.

Even if it is from the medication, I think it may not be a direct effect but rather the result of the medication working properly. I no longer have terrible anxiety about getting all my work done, so I feel less motivated to concentrate on work for hours at a time. Overall it’s a net gain because the anxiety sucked.

Absolutely. Memory and just an overall fog. Usually once I stopped it got better, my memory is much worse than it used to be, I don’t know if it is partly from meds I have taken or just age. I have never taken anything ling term except my thyroid medication. I have taken huge doses of some drugs, especially antibiotics, and I do think they had some negative effects on my brain.

I think with bensos and antidepressants possibly memory loss is helpful. A blurred memory seems to help with depression.

I take Sertraline 100mg. It effected my concentration at the beginning, I was like a zombie. My memory isn’t as sharp as what it used to be, it’s like I don’t know why I am in a certain place sometimes, or what I’m supposed to be doing.

I take a cholesterol med that says it can cause memory problems, and my husband said he has noticed my memory being off a time or two recently. Not too worried at this point.

It’s extra scary for me because my mother has Alzheimers and her mother had it also. I am 45, but there is “early onset Alzheimer’”, although neither my mom or grandmom had that.
My meds certainly help me a lot, but yikes. I can remember things from 30 years ago better than what I did yesterday

I have not. However, my ex-husband took Paxil and it really messed with his ability to focus and concentrate.

My thyroid medication seems to affect my memory/concentration. When my hormones get out of balance, I can feel the difference.

I’ve never taken those particular drugs, but Ambien and Lunesta both gave me terrible problems accessing well-known memories and being able to think through challenging programming problems. I’d wake up, and I couldn’t remember my password to log onto my computer. Call someone, and I couldn’t remember my own phone number to give to them.

Also, I would get rebound drowsiness around 11 AM. I had to give them and their entire class of sleeping meds up.

Sure but in my case there isn’t much that won’t resolve itself with a beautiful accident later. And I’m back on track. Others with more complicated lives will suffer more.
