I work in a restaurant and my girlfriend hates that my hand smell like the food I cook. I am careful to scrub my nail and cuticles but they still smell. Any ideas a good soap or something to get the smell out?

With the majority of the suggestions on @Pachyderm_In_The_Room‘s links, be certain that you have no nicks on your hands because it will sting like a beast.
The soaps that you are currently using probably are not eliminating the smell because they have artificial fragrances to mask odors rather than eliminate them. I have found using citrus works wonderfully, but can sting even if you have a tiny papercut (in fact, that’s usually how I discover papercuts..)
Is it possible the scent your girlfriend detects isn’t necessarily on your hands? It could be stuck to your hair, skin, clothes, etc.) Do you detect any lingering smell when she does?
Does the scent bother you, or just her?
Try squeezing lemon juice on hands and then scrubbing them with the squeezed lemon wedges. It may help.
In a famous scene from “Atlantic City,” Susan Sarandon (at 34) at the kitchen sink of her apartment squeezing lemons and rubbing them on her arms, her neck, her face. She works at a clam bar in a casino…, which is why she smells like fish, which is why she is squeezing lemon on herself to get rid of the smell.” Source
The smell has probably permeated your work clothes, if possible keep your work clothes separate from your at home clothes. I used to work in a print shop and the odor of the ink stuck to everything. I washed my work clothes down the street at the laundry mat just so I wouldn’t have to stick them into my washing machine.
When you get home, shower and change clothes immediately.
