How do you manage your lousy sleep patterns?

Asked by LornaLove (10037points) August 20th, 2013

Mine are particularly bad at the moment. I probably sleep around 4 a.m. Which, explains my fluthering lately!

I am thinking of cutting it one hour short each night to get it back to midnight.

Not sleeping much wrecks havoc with my day.

Do you have a bad sleep pattern? How do you manage it in your daily life?

I sleep in the day, Fluther at night… ~ My bed bugs are the ones than need to manage their sleep patterns.
If I need to do something during the day I stay awake all night.

When my pattern gets all screwed up I just go with it. I take a nap if I need to to catch up on sleep. I don’t work now so it isn’t a huge problem. If I worked 9–5 I would be tortured by it.

Let me sleep on that and get back with you.

Someone needs to tell whatever is tap dancing on my roof to shut the frak up. I was almost asleep like three times…

Gorram insomnia…

Mine have been bad lately, too, and it’s hard to get them back to any kind of normal. I am trying a mineral supplement about an hour before I want to get sleepy: Vitamin D3, Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc.

My sister swears by this, so I decided to give it a shot. Anything is better than walking around like a zombie all day, sleep deprived.

I have insomnia, and recently I have been taking an afternoon nap for about 25 minutes. At night, I stay up until I am exhausted, and I can usually crash for about 3 hours. After that, I just lie awake, and try to meditate to get the rest I need.

I sleep very poorly. If I don’t have to perform the next day, I sometimes go with it. If I am too anxious about the next day, I will take meds.

When things get out of whack, I force myself to get on a better sleeping schedule. Then, that eventually falls apart. It’s a cycle, like everything.
