I am feeling more perky than I have been this week and am hoping to accomplish much today. We’ll see how it goes.

@cookieman You go, guy!

@Mama_Cakes Thanks, I loved that.

What made my morning was a woodpecker pecking on the side of the house to say hello.

Finding a nice note from a certain somebody in my inbox.

Nah, but there is still time.

My boyfriend made it to Morocco safely overnight. He’s doing a study abroad there for the next few weeks.

Seeing how happy my daughter is when she wakes up to get ready for school, and the big hug and kiss she gives me on the cheek when the school bus pulls up to get her.

Noticing 8 blooming morning glory blossoms on a vine in a pot on my deck. Too hard for the deer to climb the steps and eat.The seeds were a gift from @coloma and travelled over 3400 miles. A happy moment even though, since it is after noon, the blossoms have closed.

Yes. I spent all day yesterday cleaning the house and grooming the dog and I made plenty of food to have leftovers today. So all I have to do is fold yesterdays laundry and reheat the leftovers I have a free day all day. Yeah!
Already planning my next house project.

@Mama_Cakes Your music was the high point of my morning. Thanks for that, it’s beautiful.

@marinelife; IF that woodpecker’s morning greeting is audible every morning, beware the state of your siding or shingles. I have large holes in my cedar from sapsuckers (a deceptive eponym) excavating areas looking for insect larvae (whose rustling the birds can hear).

Also, this documentary.

Makes me think of my beautiful niece.

@Mama_Cakes That made my afternoon.

A 3-mile walk followed by a hot shower and poached eggs on toasted English muffins.

I came away happy from a doctor’s appointment that I expected was going to bear bad news. Hallelujah.

At my age, the fact I wake up makes my morning!

My crazy cat kissed me this morning.

Yep, a nature garden moment for me too.
A bumble bee feasting on the pollens from my 5 foot tall white and pink, double ruffled Cosmos and a huge Preying mantis hanging from one of my 8 foot tall red Chianti sunflowers that border the back of the garden fence.

@gailcalled Yay….the Morning Glories soldier on, mine are deer chewed too but still blooming away. :-)

gailcalled's avatar

^^ My cosmos are also 5 feet tall w. enormous amounts of foliage but not one bud. Can you explain that? One did reseed itself in between two flagstones, is about 9” high with sparse leaves but does have a single nice blossom. Can you explain that?

I woke up late. I enjoyed the extra sleep.

Honestly it use to be when a woman woke me with a sizzling blow job that morphed into a torrid 69, but now it is meeting with my brethren a getting into the Word.

Coloma's avatar

@gailcalled Mine JUST started blooming about a week to 10 days ago too.
Yes, lush and fluffy but late bloomers this year. Who knows but worth waiting for!

gailcalled's avatar

Maybe something will happen here soon then since I am at least one growing zone colder than you, possibly two. Zone 4b

The boss wasn’t in today so my morning was more relaxed than usual. I may have even had a cheeky bacon roll!

Coloma's avatar

@gailcalled I think mine are slow because I am about 3 hours short of full sun in this garden spot.
It rotates around but in total only getting full sun from about 8 a.m. til 2ish.
My old house was blazing until 6 p.m. that 3–4 extra hours makes a big dif.

This morning my husband and I woke up early and watched some TV together and cuddled a little. We moved several months ago and with his new job he has a slightly later wake up time and I love it. He used to jump out of bed and dash out the door. We don’t get to laze around every morning, but with the later schedule it happens once in a while and never did before.

@Mama_Cakes…thanks to your post, I remembered to make time to watch this. I saw it on my phone early this morning, but then got so busy I forgot to get back to it.

I had to conduct a CPR training today at work, and due to the number of people signed up, I had an assistant trainer. Normally, when you have an assistant, they don’t show up until it’s time for the training to start, and then they leave when it’s over. This person, who I had never had occasion to co-train with, was wonderful. She helped me lug all of the supplies to the training room, and assisted throughout. At the end she offered to oversee the scanning and e-mailing of all the paperwork, and she helped me put everything away.

My pleasant surprise at all her willing and cheerful help this morning helped set a very good tone for the rest of the day…a day I had been dreading because of all the schlepping around it usually involves. I made a point of telling her all this…

Ugh…the only thing making my morning the last few days is a hefty dose of misery from all the smoke suffocating us poor NorCal peeps from the Rim fire near ( now in ) Yosemite and the closer fire to me in the Tahoe Natl. forest. Sheer misery, burning eyes, headache, body aches…total toxicity. Hell on earth for sure.

ETpro's avatar

Wishing the fire areas rain. It’s almost too depressing to watch the evening news. Stay safe. Shut everything and get an air filtration unit.
