What are you full of right now?

Asked by janbb (63219points) August 24th, 2013

After a week spent with different cousins and close friends, I am full of love right now. Feeling very connected with a number of people and rich in meaningful relationships. What is filling you up right now – for good or bad?

Hope for my grilled meatloaf.

augustlan's avatar

Angst, unfortunately.

Jeruba's avatar

Me too, Auggie.

I still have enough room left, though, to be glad for you, @janbb. In the past three years I’ve been working on learning not to be totally obsessed by what’s wrong even when it feels as big as the world.

Antienthusiasm. It is to enthusiasm what antimatter is to matter. I was full of something else this morning, but then I took an enema.

janbb's avatar

Sorry for that, guys!

augustlan's avatar

I’m just glad at least one of us is having a great day! :)

Red Lobster’s endless shrimp.

janbb's avatar

@livelaughlove21 You must still be eating them though.

livelaughlove21's avatar

@janbb Nope. Super early 4PM dinner so the husband could go cat fishing. Not-so-endless shrimp.

We ate our weight in shrimp, cheddar bay biscuits, mashed potatoes, drinks and a 1070-calorie chocolate chip lava sundae and brought home enough to feed us for three days all for $47.

The shrimp recently revisited me, though. I paid dearly for stuffing my face. Update: not so full of shrimp anymore.

Concern. (My mom was supposed to leave the hospital on Friday and go home finally, but she has pain in her stomach and she tested positive for C.diff again. I guess it’s common to test positive if you’ve had it before, so we are hoping that’s the case and she will be well enough to go home Monday.)

I’m also full of cheese and crackers. I need room for that grilled meatloaf!

Having just come from my favorite neighborhood Mexican restaurant, I’m full of guacamole.

Positive anticipation. My work project might actually work! We had some breakthroughs today.

I am feeling full of loss that Marian McPartland has died.

Sangria, to be honest.

Smoke!
Dying over here.
Surrounded by all the CA. wildfires.
Goodbye dear friends, I fear I shall perish of smoke induced asphyxiation.

It’s bad, really, really bad. :-(

ETpro's avatar

So sorry to hear that, @Coloma. But don’t worry. None of this is really happening. It’s all an Al Gore hoax to make you believe climate change is real. Just ignore it and drill for oil.

augustlan's avatar

Hope you’re safe, @Coloma!

Beans.

(We had burritos for dinner.)

Inability to make a decision.

ETpro's avatar

@JLeslie Post the dilemma here. I am really comfortable at making decisions for others… That’s because I don’t have to live with the consequences.

Blood, guts, bones, shit like that.

See, if I was a Viking, I could be all like, I am full of fury, and all shall know the law of steel!! But noooo, I have to be French. I mean seriously, what the fuck.

Gratitude. This is turning out to be a weekend of overflowing gratitude for me—something that is not out of the blue since this sensibility has been fermenting over the last year—after many, many years of angst and anguish. It is not an exaggeration to say that I am in the midst of becoming enlightened, and so many troublesome understandings about the world and my life that I have carried are simply evaporating, dispelled. Today, I am seeing clearly how all of these worries and fears are teachers. The lesson is about unseating the mind and all of its constructs in favor of realizing one’s innate, unblemished divinity and that life simply unfolds and flows without effort or struggle.

This means I can no longer imagine a thing to worry about. I see now that my well of inner peace is simply filling itself.

janbb's avatar

@serenade That is great for you!

@Blondesjon Quel surprise!

janbb's avatar

I am full of chagrin because the carrot cake I worked half the day on is not good. The baking powder was too old and it clumped up.

Bittersweetness. @mangeons left yesterday for her first year away at college, and @Fly left for her second year today. I’m excited for them, but I miss them already!

Mariah's avatar

Excitement. I move back to college tomorrow!!

Also, delicious food.

hearkat's avatar

Ratatouille; and burning inflammation with occasional random stabbing pain from my rheumatoid arthritis that has been especially bothersome today.

janbb's avatar

@hearkat Sorry to hear that!

hearkat's avatar

@janbb – Yeah… it’s been minor for the year since it’s been diagnosed, but these past few weeks have been notably worse. I’m due for my quarterly check-up, so we’ll be talking more or different medications, I bet.

Headhurts's avatar

Disappointment.

Coloma's avatar

Coffee and smoke still. There really ARE clouds in my coffee. lol

janbb's avatar

@Coloma How are you doing with the fire?

Coloma's avatar

@janbb Lots of smoke still, mornings are worst and better in the late afternoons, still bad, and my head is about to explode. Just keeping things closed up and limiting outdoor exertions. Bleh! Thanks for asking! :-)

janbb's avatar

@Coloma hang in there!

jonsblond's avatar

Full of joy. My father just called and he’s taking my mom home this afternoon. She hasn’t slept in her own bed Since March 12 of this year!

janbb's avatar

@jonsblond I am so happy for you!

JLeslie's avatar

Great news.

Rolling Rock, sunshine and chlorine stained skin.

Blondesjon's avatar

Another vote for Rolling Rock. There is also a great deal of piss and vinegar as well.

Whether this is my personality or the chemical composition of Rolling Rock is left to the reader to decide.

Ha HAH…well…I am about to be full of the most decadent Mocha Oreo milkshake ever made by the hand of woman. Eat your hearts out jellies and don;t look at my chubby little ass. lololol:-D
