I just might become one . . . now where’s my beer?
Gimmie a Greyhound in Heat and Im ready to time-travel back and join up with Teddy Rosevelt and charge up the hill, or hit a nice bar and charge up to the max on my credit card, or charge you for asking. Whatever.
I don’t think it’s all that entertaining, but I’ve never been a big fan of drunk people in general.
If they were on drugs I’d probably be a fan of the show, I can tolerate people who are high.
I’ve never found drunkeness in the least bit funny, it’s been shown in movies & tv shows for donkeys years, “look at the silly drunkard, how hilarious.”
Genuine real life drunk people are funny as fuck, so long as they don’t go all ape shit & violent, but pretend drunk…meh.
@ucme The storytellers in Drunk History are really drunk. They aren’t acting.
I like parody, and whacky derivatives of true stories, and I’ve enjoyed a few of the episodes of Drunk History, but they leave me aching for the unfulfilled potential of what they are doing.
Personally I think the concept would be more effective without pinning the distortions on a particular influence (i.e. alcohol in this case).
Just go for it with wacky half-factual stories about half-real situations from history and call it We-Made-This-Up-History, why not?
My guess is that the results could be as hilarious as some of Monty Python’s best work.
@jonsblond Ahh, well that’s probably funny then, I get nowt when I click on your link see.
I want to do this show so bad. I had plenty of practice with RAR.
I’d like to discuss prohibition or women’s suffrage.
Omg, how did I miss this??
@cheebdragon You’re back! Missed you. Where you been, on a binge? :-)
I just watched the Lewis and Clark one. OMG, is that Buster Bluth and Kumail Nanjani?
So… it has come to this.
I really, really, really hate drunks. I am so glad I trashed the TV ages ago. What horseshit.
