What's your kids' favourite Android app?

Asked by Seek (34808points) August 31st, 2013

My five year old just received a belated birthday gift: a Nextbook 7.

Tomorrow I’m certain much time will be spent loading him up with apps and games both educational and extracurricular.

Do you have a favorite app for his age group? He’s a bit quick to pick up on computer programs, so I’d say anything for the 5 to 10 age range.

Thanks!

Try Angry Birds, Cut the Rope or Where’s my Water. They are quite family-friendly and appealing for children in that age.
My brother likes those games and he’s 9 years old

You can give Nemo’s Reef a try. He will likely need some help with the dialogue boxes that pop up from time to time but there are lots of parents/grandparents playing together with their kids so its appealing for adults as well.

It’s obviously an offshoot of the Disney/Pixar movie and the artwork is absolutely gorgeous and the fish characters are cute. And it’s all free.

Basically its a building game (an underwater version) and most of the fish and plants are based upon real ones found in a coral reef so in that sense its educational without kids realizing it specifically.

There’s also a friendly group that hang out at a forum at the link I’ll include and post tips and tricks which come in very handy. You can also visit other gamer’s reefs to get ideas for your own.

If he enjoyed the film, chances are he’ll like this.

I just discovered this and its impressive and gorgeous.

Vrellis(the developer) posts a note that its coming soon to Android.

The link above is to a short vid showing it in action. If it looks this great on my iPhone, I can’t wait to see it on my Galaxy Tab.
