Huff, huff, huff, I’m out of breath, running to finish my stuff so I can actually attend this party.
I’m afraid I all but missed @Livelaughlove’s and @flutherother‘s parties and for that I apologize whole-heartedly. For each of them, I give This Gift I’m still slapping myself for missing those 2 parties : (
Before we get this thing started, I wanted to offer you an Appetizer that kind of goes along with This Question Just for fun : P
Oh, and in case you’re feeling a little bit slower these days, we bought you one of These to tool around the mansion grounds.
Now, whilst some of the others lug your baggage up to the next floor, may I present you with your restaurant tour of the United States?
First up is The Red Farm in New York for dim sum, whee you can even get a Katz’s pastrami filled eggroll.
Next we’re heading to Boston and 80 Thoreau for a modern sophisticated dinner.
Then we’re heading to Dudley, North Carolina, for barbecue at “Grady’s:http://www.ourstate.com/gradys-barbecue-dudley/
And further south, in Miami, we’re going to Versailles for Cuban food.
I hope you’re still hungry, because we’re going clear across the country. Good thing Auggie let me book this Tour Bus
OK, so next up is Memphis, Tennessee, where we’ll be checking out A&R Barbecue where you can even get BBQ spaghetti, or a BBQ baloney sandwich, in addition to the traditional style Memphis BBQ items. Heard about the spaghetti on Diner’s, Drive-ins and Dives.
Moving right along, we’re going to Tracey’s for oyster po’ boys and cheese fries.
Then it’s up to Kansas City, Kansas, for more barbcue and some blues music, at BB’s Lawnside BBQ
I know we’re kind of ziggin’ and zaggin’, not exactly going in a straight line, hope that’s OK with you.
So we’re going to go a little bit east and a little bit north, to Chicago, for what else? Chicago style pizza, at Bacino’s I picked this place, because not only can you get a heart shaped pie, they have a lot of luscious vegetarian options, in addition to the more traditional fillings. I can smell it from here!
Then it’s up to Monroe, Wisconsin, to Baumgartner’s Cheese Store and Tavern for cheese and beer.
Then it’s over to Fort Benton, Montana and the Grand Union Hotel Restaurant for some traditional and more modern versions of Big Sky cuisine. The hotel is on the historic registry and is in Montana’s oldest town. Thought you might enjoy a bit o’ history with your meal.
Somebody get out that map, so I can figure out where we’re going next. And tell @UCME to stop touching @Jonsblond! Don’t make me have to come back there!
OK, turn left, we’re heading south again, to Denver, Colorado, to Cholon Modern Asian Bistro for something unexpected—southeast Asian cuisine. Wow!
OK @Symbeline, I told you to put that thing down, or at least share it with @zenzen. Maybe you two could work on a puzzle until we get to Texas, for more (but different than the others) BBQ at Franklin Barbecue in Austin.
Then it’s over to Santa Fe, New Mexico for sopapillas and red and green chile, at Cafe Castro And yes, @janbb we will be making a pit stop in Santa Fe, I’m sure everyone has to go by now.
Honk! Honk! Dude, move that Yugo out of the way! Can’t you see we’re on our way to Scottsdale, Arizona? We’re heading to Mission for modern Latin cuisine.
Burrrrrrrrrppppp! Oh my goodness, excuse me. Maybe someone should crack a window.
Anyway, onward and upward. California here we come! Wow! look, there’s the Golden Gate Bridge! No self respecting foodie ahem, I mean food enthusiast would come to San Francisco without visiting The Greens restaurant. So load up on your gourmet veggies everyone. That means you too, @Livelaughlove!
Still chugging along, hopefully no one’s yet developed car sickness or food poisoning, heh heh.
OK, go north young man! We are headed to Seattle, Washington, to Canlis for exquisite contemporary Northwest cuisine, in a really cool mid-century building, with excellent views of the city.
Now, everybody, you might want to settle in for a little nap, because getting to Alaska is going to take a little while. We would also do Hawaii, but I’m afraid our bus can’t travel across the Ocean, but maybe @Hawaii_jake or @Tropicalwillie can suggest some places in the great state of Hawaii for a future trip (hint, hint).
OK, dear sir, this place, called The Chart Room at the Kodiak Inn, in Kodiak, Alaska. I chose it for the fresh seafood buffet and the fabulous views of the harbor. And where else, can you watch killer whales frolicking whilst dining?
I hope you have enjoyed your tour. Congratulations of your achievement, and your wonderful, funny and caring attitude towards all of us Jellies. Now have a nice nightcap and get some sleep.
