Would neurofeedback (biofeedback) be useful in treating post concussion syndrome?

Asked by Adirondackwannabe (36713points) September 6th, 2013

I wacked my head pretty good three months ago and I’m still dealing with the affects. I thought it was a minor concussion but obviously not. I go for an MRI Monday and then probably a clinic specializing in these things, but the closest one is over an hour away. I’ve had multiple concussions so that doesn’t help either. Right across the hall from me now is an office that does neurofeedback to treat a wide variety of aliments. Think that might be worth a shot? It’s Friday, this is in social, so feel free to throw in any jokes, sick or otherwise you want. I know, medical things see my Dr, but it was just a thought to throw out for ideas.

Why not see what they say, if it’s a cost you’re willing to pay and if you think you may learn something.

Don’t everyone answer at once. I know it’s a bit obscure. But the technician did think they could help with the affects I’m trying to deal with. Plus I failed the ultimate neuro test today, I tried 4 times to listen to Rock N Roll Train and couldn’t do it for more than a minute.

I would wait until after the MRI to try it. That way you will have more information to make it more effective.

Any updates?

I had the MRI today. That was less than fun, but it’s done. I should have the results in 24 hours or so. They play music for the patient. It helped. It took about 20 minutes lying absolutely still.
