Do you specifically mean Fluther? This wasn’t in Meta, and the Q you reference asks about “chatting online” with others. I haven’t clicked that strongly on Fluther, but I have on a mobile social site, and I’ve met about 30 of those people in person after interacting online first. I also met my fiancée on a mobile social network, and we clicked as friends very strongly and after hanging out platonically a couple times, we could not deny the chemistry so we chose to make it a romance.

The internet is a great way to connect with people over common interest whose paths you may not have crossed otherwise.

There are 3 or 4 members I’ve talked to on the phone for hours on end. A few others I’ve chatted with on IM, sometimes for up to 12 hours at a time.

Omg there are so many people I want to respond to certain questions even if they aren’t around or love seeing their various thoughtful humorous and yes even rants.

I talk to a few though I am often remiss about it. There are people I think I could sync with and I met someone who shares with me quite a few opinions on topics and maybe more.

Yes, am I allowed to name him? We get on quite well and he makes me smile. Though ever now and then, he goes a little weird and won’t contact me for a while, but he always finds his way back.

Just one but she doesn’t really count because I talked her into joining Fluther recently and we were already “connected” very strongly for 2 years before that.

I’ve had some conversations with other Jellies but not to the level of what some other people have said.

Not really no, but then that’s not what i’m after. There are & have been some pretty cool folks here & I get along with a lot of you, but connect, in it’s truest form? Nah!

Yeah, but 97% of them are no longer here, been ran off by all the “love” found here. ;-P

I like the site, but like my experiences with several other sites I don’t think many of the people on here are the type that I would get along with offline. I’m extremely liberal, but not a fluther liberal, and there are quite a few issues that I vividly disagree with most jellies on.

There’s only one site where I keep in contact with a few members on concerning my email, because we share similar interests on a specific topic. There are also a few jellies that I keep in contact with whom asked me for advice pertaining to a problem that they had. There were a few older jellies that I was somewhat close with on here, but they eliminated their accounts.

I never came to Fluther looking for friends. I came, searching thru Google, because my cats had fleas 6 years ago (2007) and I wanted some answers as to how to get rid of the fleas. I stayed and I have made many friends, men and women, who I suspect I’ll be in touch with thru Fluther and FB until the day I die.

I ued to chat regularly with two people on Askville.Unfortunately they were not able to make it here. Still we chat on FB or atleast keep in touch through mails. Miss them here.Hope to make new friends here!
