"Copy image url" disappeared from Google Chrome?

Asked by Amaroaverno (17points) September 10th, 2013

Hello
I don’t known what happened, from a moment to another a contex-menu option called “copy image url” (which I use a lot to build html pages), has simply disappeared from Google Chrome (and also from Firefox).
I can’t seem to be able to get the URL from an Image in Google+ Photo Album, the only plausible option left on the context menu its “save as”, which save the whole page but doesn’t help me getting the image’s url…
...how to get the “save image url” option back?

Edit: The option its still there on my Laptop’s Google Chrome, but not on the PC I use, and it was there too before it just disappeared.

That could be a quirk of Google+. I still have the “copy image url” option available to me in Chrome.

It’s probably the web site, deliberately preventing “Copy image url”.

Try it on this page, where I can “Copy image url” in both Chrome and Firefox.

Mine works here on Fluther. And I have Google+ so that’s not the problem. I’m gussing @jaytkay has the right answer. The webpage has code to disallow it.

Aside from what @jaytkay suggested, do you just need the URL to hotlink images on forums and th like?

If that’s the case, try to save the image onto your computer and upload it onto a media-hosting site like Photobucket. If the site doesn’t allow you to save the image, there are many screenshot editor extensions on Google Chrome that you can use.

@jaytkay is correct. The web site includes code to make the image viewable yet copying or saving it is not permitted. There is nothing wrong with your browser.
