Where would be a great place to sell cookbooks online?

Etsy is not an option, unfortunately.

Do you intend to sell cookbooks (pdf or physical copy?) that you have written or used cookbooks as a bookseller front? Why isn’t Etsy a viable option? (Shipping / payment restrictions? Cost of listing an item for sale?)

Physical copy. My partner’s Mom wrote one, it has been printed and the books are ready to go.

Esty sells handmade and used items only.

You could try Amazon.

You could try Amazon, local booksellers (independent stores might be willing to help out), market the book through a blog (that way you can post samples and maybe network with other bloggers who might be willing to review some of the recipes.) Does the book have an ISBN?

Amazon would be my first choice. If it’s any good (I know it’s probably hard to look at it objectively), perhaps think of approaching a local bookseller with a sample copy for them to look at.

It’s on Amazon. Has been there for awhile.

We still have a ton of books, and would like to make a bit of money.

Has some decent reviews.

How much marketing for the book is still active? If the book isn’t consistently marketed on a variety of mediums, it may not get enough foot traffic to its online listings for people to consider purchasing it.

Something this niche-ey should be pretty easy to move. Try driving around to local tourist traps around the Great Lakes and offering them good terms – a reasonable discount (30–40%?) and a year to return the books if unsold. At least they would be taking up space at the retailers and not in your storage facility. And you will sell some, if not all.

I just got back from a trip to see family in the Great Lakes. I went to several higher end bakeries and they were selling cute stuff like this. I don’t know if you’re going to get much traction online unless you aggressively self promote. I live in California and I wouldn’t get it (no offense), but if I were travelling or local, and I were able to thumb through a copy of it, then I might.

Try Lulu.com they publish and distribute books on line and to physical stores.

Her Mom spent a lot of time researching. She also wrote another cookbook with recipes from Michigan. It was printed, as well.
