You guys at Fluther do get paid right, so I was wondering how much? What does the Mod’s salary look like compared to a workers salary?

No one gets paid except Augie. And what used to be full time salary is now an itsy bitsy stipend.
I did get a Fluther t shirt for the time I was a mod.
@Seek_Kolinahr I heard they get a lot of shirt. Oh, wait… It was a lot of shit. Ya, all the shit they can eat.
I lasted four months. It’s a taxing job.
So are there a lot of workers working for Fluther…I presume not? What made you stay as Mod for four months, is it the love of the job? So my dream of becoming a Fluther worker one day, is a bad idea?
If you want to work for Fluther for the money, yes it’s a bad idea. There isn’t any money.
I love Fluther. It’s important to me. I’m not emotionally cut out for the job. I’m too close. It’s a personal thing
So like who deals with the viruses and stuff and like site maintenance? What about the Anti- Flutherer sects that troll and bash and degrade Fluther? Isn’t there someone who fights them off and isn’t the hero or heroine gets paid for that?
Nope. The site is not in development. Auggie keeps us alive for a pittance.
Fluther moderators do not get paid. They’re only volunteers. @Augustlan is the only paid employee, but the salary is so low that she is basically working for free.
I think you’re romanticizing moderation a little. Most forums do not generate enough income to be profitable and hire volunteers to work as the moderators (and I have forum-hopped quite often—this is almost always the case.) Mods are not paid. Spammers are eaten frequently and non-heroically. Augustlan has consulted the founders to fix minor glitches (like the frustrating editing timer), but that’s it.
Most of us who “write for Fluther” during business hours are paid at our normal hourly rate by our employers, and heaven help us if they discover the fact…
It’s my understanding that Fluther has no paid workers and only one person who receives any money at all, which is a stipend only.
This is an all volunteer site. The original founders are no longer actively working here, and rarely appear on site. As mentioned above, they can be contacted for emergencies, but even that is very rare.
As everyone has mentioned, the mods are all volunteers. As the manager, I get paid a stipend of $500 a month to keep the place running smoothly. There are no other employees at all. When something technical needs fixing, I send an urgent text to Ben – one of Fluther’s founders. He fixes it on his own time, and on his own dime. The whole deal is pretty much a labor of love. :)
Well, not really sad, because asking questions pays five times more than writing answers!*
So that’s not bad at all, is it?
*Up to 100 times more if you’re bad at math.
