Triggered by @Jeruba's recent question about opera, have you performed in any of Gilbert and Sullivan's operettas?
What was your part, how old were you, how did you perform? Could you sing on key? Did you remember your lines? Were you a pirate or Frederick, a little maid or the Lord High Executioner, a cousin or Buttercup?

Her recent question: What’s the first opera you ever saw performed, either live on stage or on film? (I can’t get the textile markup to work here. Sorry)
I was in the chorus in H.M.S. Pinafore in college. One of the many “sisters, cousins and aunts.”
For some reason that I still can’t figure out, I memorized Buttercup’s song, “I’m Called Little Buttercup.” I wasn’t in any line to be her stand-in, but I loved the song.
No, I’m sorry to say that I’m not a singer. But the music has always been around. My mother played it on the piano, and we had some recordings. We also had a book of piano arrangements of G&S music, and in time I learned to play them myself.
When I was 14 I attended my first G&S performance (it was Pirates), by the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company at the Schubert Theatre in Boston. I do sing along to many of the numbers when I listen to recordings by myself.
Believe me, you would not to hear me in a Gilbert and Sullivan or any operetta.
I’ve never sung in public. Way too shy for that! But blasting show tunes (and singing along) was a common occurrence around our house while I was growing up. Every now and again, I hear my husband singing “Then give three cheers, and one cheer more, for the hardy Captain of the Pinafore!” Wonder if he ever performed it?
For better or worse, I’ve never performed in a G&S operetta. I have seen quite a number of them, because one of our sister theatre organizations does a musical every summer while we do Shakespeare in the Park. They do G&S every other year. HMS Pinafore is by far my favorite that I’ve seen. I was quite surprised at the number of songs I already knew, though I have no recollection of learning them. It’s very funny stuff.
^^Nanki-poo, the Mikado, Katisha?
