@Pachyderm In The Room I would slap myself a few times and than tell myself to save money!
@Sunny2 it think I would tell myself that as well.

Would my young self know that it was my old self talking?
I would struggle to tell myself not to get married. The marriage was miserable but it produced two of my children who I love dearly but they both inherited his mental health issues which makes their lives really hard.

There is much to treasure along the road; don’t settle for the first shiny object that catches your eye.

Many things, like check out fluther.com asap!

Seriously though, I would tell myself to work on forgiving my bio-dad instead of trying to get him to change.

I would tell myself that I’m a good person and deserve the best things in life, so dump the guy I’m with and get back in college.

I’d tell myself that drinking and drugging don’t make you happy, they just waste time that could be spent helping others and being productive.

I’d tell myself that my vote does count and quit listening to people who tell me otherwise.

I’d tell myself to spend every minute possible with gma and gpa cause they don’t stick around too long.

I already did this with my psychologist. She told me to write a letter to myself. I did. “Not my fault”—-it does work. I harbor no guilt anymore and while the person has since died, I can say I honestly am at peace.
Who would have thought it would work?!!!

@Pooh54 strange that you mention the letter thing, I wrote a letter to myself and it ended up to be a 15 000 word short story.
@KNOWITALL well said with the fluther advise, believe it or not been a part of fluther is the best thing that I did and my fellow jellies helped me thru 2012.
@whitenoise I would tell my younger self not to be ignorant because ignorance was the cause of many of my problems

@antimatter As frustrating as it can be, and as mad as I get at times, I agree with you – lol

First I would be amazed that my future self was still so handsome. Secondly, I would explain a few things about women and choices that really didn’t work out.

Glad you didn’t push that penny and you are not a little faggot pussy.

I’d tell my “past” self all the bad things would happen (due to my foolishness) from that time to my current time and said: “All of them are avoidable if you stop being stupid!”

Sex is not wrong. Nuns and Priests are humans who haven’t a freaking clue what the real world is about. You should ask that girl in Spanish junior year to go out with you, even though it was 1977. Buy the Cougar XR-7. Don’t let mom get rid of your books. Climb the fucking tree and see what is in that fucking tree house! Oh, I could go on and on…

Next time get a cat whlle you’re in your twenties.

Mimishu1995's avatar

@Sueanne_Tremendous I agree with you about the nuns and priests thing. I should tell myself that too :)

Pooh54's avatar

@Sueanne_Tremendous I did buy that Cougar XR7. White, moonroof, turbo. Rocket ship!! loved it until things started going wrong. That and my first insurance company canceled me 3 weeks after I bought it saying it was a high-theft risk and they wouldn’t insure it. (I called them prior to buying it and they said NO PROBLEM!) One of the few impulse buys that I don’t regret.
