If you had infinite money , or 1 trillion dollars, and access to talent how close can you get to build a starcraft/probe/shuttle?

How close to a Star Trek shuttle craft can we design as of 2013?

You could make it look like one.
Here is what you can not do:
1. You can not make it fly, because you have no anti gravity tech (needed, because the shuttle produces no lift whatsoever), you have no impulse engines (which the shuttle uses while at sublight speeds), and you have no portable fusion power source (needed to power the impulse engines, at least in canon).
2. Even if you got the shuttle to impulse sublight speeds, it would be instantly destroyed because you have no deflector shield technology.
3. No warp drive yet, and no matter – antimatter reactor either.

In short, your shuttle would be about as functional as a movie prop.

@ragingloli So we need these 3 criteria for R&D. Thank you.

@talljasperman

You said “as of 2013”
it is past the middle of september so you have about 3 months left to
1. Make a massive breakthrough in physics for the antigravity.
2. Make a massive breakthrough in physics for the impulse engines.
3. Make massive breakthroughs in engineering for the mobile fusion power plant.
4. Make more massive breakthroughs in engineering to get it all to work.
5. Make a massive breakthrough in physics to have a practical theoretical model for a functioning warp drive.
6. Some more m.b.i.p. for the antimatter reactor
7. The same for the deflector shield
8. Engineering breakthrough for the actual warp drive itself.
9. Testing all these components every step of the way.

No matter how many people you have, or how much money you throw at it, you will not do that in 3 months.

@ragingloli Don’t forget that I am a part time , psychic time traveler, I managed to get a 44% and almost passing my high school physics. I will copy your shopping list and put in my email for things to do. Your answers are really good I will save a seat for you when earth goes kaput.

I already command a massive fleet of starships, every single one capable of intergalactic travel, and with enough firepower to turn a planet into a buring cinder within minutes.

@ragingloli Yes, but do they have HBO.

I reckon I could get new tires for my truck. Maybe get a new mower…

@ragingloli I have a blue phone box :p

Not close at all, because Star Trek shuttles don’t rely on thrusters for landing and they are capable of creating a warp field. With a trillion dollar and 2013 knowledge we could build a slow starship.
