If a teenager of fifteen is under extreme stress to the point he has large, dark circles under his eyes and is not taken to any sort of specialist, what would be expected he might do that normally he wouldn’t consider doing? That is, are there any kinds of probable illnesses or behaviors on his part as a result of long-term, unavoidable stress? The “mother” in question refuses to deal with it fearing that she might encounter problems with Child Protective Services.

These situations scream “help” and it’s very unfortunate that the parent in this situation refuses assistance, the aftermath of these cases do not end well so here is an proactive approach, he needs talk to someone about his emotions, a third party who can provide sound advice based on the situation that he may be engaged in. It’s very important that he deals with this emotions as he is at the age where it is most difficult…...
Depression, suicide, self-harm, psychological harm, and reckless behavior are all things that could happen. If you think you need to get involved, do it.
What on earth does the mother think will get her in trouble with Child Protective Services? She feels guilty about something. @Mr_Paradox has a list she might be made aware of. She knows things are not good. She should learn how bad it could be.
Q: What happens to teens with extreme, untreated, ignored stress?
A: They fit in with every other teen in America.
CPS? Why would she think that? Is she being abusive? The teenager risks getting sick more often, depression, suicide, anger issues, sadness, lower grades, and even more susceptible to physical pain.
They turn into bitter angry people, like me.
Among other things its a perfect set-up for either addiction or suicide.
If they don’t find some healthy outlet (therapy, sports ) to relieve the pressure they’ll seek to escape it in unhealthy ways.
