Does responding to "official government" fb posts or bulk emails regarding government policy make any difference?

Asked by Dutchess_III (47069points) September 26th, 2013

For example, I receive emails from a Democratic site that says, “Say NO to a shut down!”
Or you may get a fb post from “the Obama Administration” that says the same thing. “Let your voice be heard!”
Does responding to these things make any difference?

No. consider those as exactly the same as Junk mail

I just wondered because I heard a news broadcaster mention “out pouring of support” on social media.

News broadcasts should all come with a laugh track.

Actually it will make a difference. You will see the volume of emails you get skyrocket as well as the requests for money. If you are a lonely person and need more email correspondence this is the way to get it.

I think sending an e-mail directly to the office of your representative would make a lot more sense.

Most of those other things you receive are just scams.

I’m not on any propaganda mailing lists because I have the capacity to think for myself.
