What was the name of the photography studio at the Colonade in Toronto?

Asked by victord66 (201points) September 29th, 2013

Back in the 60’s and 70’s there was a photography studio at the Colonade on Bloor Street. The name Yousuf Karsh comes to mind, but I don’t really think it was him. Anyone know?

Thanks DWW25921 but what you found is just a directory of existing galleries in the Yorkville area. I’m looking for a photography studio that was at the Colonade back in the 60’s and 70’s. One of the names that comes to mind is Kavouk, but in talking with a friend recently, he remembers the studio but we just can’t think of the name.

Ooh… Toronto is kind of a blurr. Legal weed and all. Maybe it’s on google?

A.A. Bronson and General Idea seem to keep coming up in searches on the Colonnade, but I can’t find any reference to a specific studio in the building. You could try contacting the building management for information on their leasing history. Or there must be a number of people who would simply remember – Toronto gallery owners, art historians, etc. Maybe start writing some letters?
