Is dog shampoo "no tears" shampoo, like baby shampoo?

Asked by Dutchess_III (47127points) September 29th, 2013

When I bathe my dogs I try to avoid getting soap in their eyes, which means not washing their head or their ears as well as I’d like. However, I’m sure that over the years I’ve had to have leaked soap in their eyes at some point or another, but if so, it’s nothing they particularly reacted to, nothing beyond getting water in their eyes which they don’t really like.

So is the shampoo tears-free? If so, why doesn’t it state that on the shampoo bottle?

I don’t know but my sister use to use johnson and johnson baby shampoo on her dog for years. Just be sure to rinse your dog out well. I think human shampoo is a little bit more soapy than dog shampoos, and left over shampoo residue can cause them to get itchy or break out in a rash.
