Do you think my cat figured out and actually caught the infamous red dot?

Give her a few days. She may forget. The red light is too tempting.

Perhaps, or more likely she saw an object in your hand and hoped it was food, thus tried to knock it out of your hand. If I wiggle my fingers, my cat jumps up and tries to pry food out of my hand.

Once they figure it out, they don’t forget. My cat figured it out and did the same thing your cat did. He’d look at the dot and then at the pointer.

My dog was obsessed with spots of light and soon figured out that it came from my flashlight.

Man, my Schrödinger did that from day one. Now when the dot is right in front of him, he’ll mess with it a little, but he can’t be arsed to stand up, much less chase the thing. He just looks at me like, ‘Ma, where’s my dot? Put it back.’

It’s entirely possible, haha. Cats are intelligent! My oldest daughter has taught our male cat to roll over, and to beg for his dinner. I taught him to “kiss” me if he wants his face scratched. It’s adorable. Our female cat, on the other hand, is a stubborn wench and refuses to learn new things. :)

Itzamna will still chase the laser around but I’m convinced he knows it’s me that is in control of it. At first he’d go bat shit crazy for it, and he still will a bit but whenever I make the laser do anything ridiculous like go up the wall onto the ceiling or turn it off he will just sit there and give me a “dude wtf?” look.

Dude, my cat just knows how to kill things. He’s a monster that I created.
