What purpose does the Amber Alert.gov website serve?
All the conservatives have their undies in a bundle because the Amber Alert Website was shut down due to the government shut down. No matter how many times they were told that it didn’t affect the actual Amber Alert system itself, they keep crying about it.
Amber Alerts are initiated by the police and other emergency agencies, who in turn, call radio stations and other media outlets to get the word out ASAP. That didn’t change.
I can’t imagine what service the website would even provide beyond information and history, or why we would care that it was shut down for a while.
