Yes.
There a variety of methods I have employed. Usually its a formula. Allowing myself to wallow a bit then finding something temporary or superficial that gives me a big enough boost to do more then treat the symptoms but develop a plan and the confidence to tackle the root problem.
Usually there are tons of symptom treaters. You have to find one that works for you and it won’t always be the same.
The rest is facing fears breaking things down into small enough pieces so they don’t overwhelm or seem unachievable.
Keep us posted. You will get through this.
Yes. The key to survival is don’t let depression gain a foothold. The road to recovery is filled with obstacles and you’re going to trip! It’s ok as long as you get up and keep going.
I feel helpless now…
…or rather, I might feel helpless if I allowed my thoughts to linger on the unknown outcome of what has to be resolved.
My wife died last month. I have to figure out how to use one income
to run a household we struggled to maintain with two incomes.
While I can’t say that I’ve resolved or recovered from this dilemma, there’s some comfort in understanding that all things work out eventually…one way or another.
No sense making myself ill over it. I’ve just resigned myself to focusing only on whatever it is I need to do.
@SABOTEUR I am so sorry for the loss of your wife.
I feel helpless whenever I hear about/see someone being mistreated. Children and animals, in particular. I have never felt helpless for longer than a couple of hours. Guess I’m lucky.
I’m extremely sorry, @SABOTEUR. You seem very brave.
