How long does it take for your ears to unclog from a sinus infection?

It’s been a week that I have been on antibiotic , antihistamine and nose inhaler. I am still getting little pressure in my ears and it’s kind of annoying me and giving me bad anxiety. Does anyone know what is the best thing I should do ?

Sounds like you are doing everything. Is it causing you pain? Or, you just can’t hear well?
Chewing gum can help open up the eustacian tube.
It should clear up soon.
It depends.
A lot of people say it takes a week to get rid of all the symptoms.
Others say it takes seven days.
If your ears were fully congested, it can take a month or even two to get all the way back to 100%. Continue taking the medicine as prescribed. Steam helps loosen mucus, so take long showers and consume soups and teas. If you are still blowing your nose, blow gently to avoid pushing more mucus up the Eustachian tube. If it doesn’t feel any better after the antibiotics are done, go back to the Dr. who prescribed them and/or consider seeing an ear specialist.
I am prone to sinus infections once a year or so and the worst was some years ago when my ears stayed plugged for several months!
Drink lots of fluids and take a mild decongestant too.
They will probably feel better pretty soon, if not see your doctor again.
My experience has been 1–2 days with the 3rd being slightly better…
Thanks guys!!! I hope so because I was feeling better after a week then it all started up again. Do you get anxiety from your ears being clogged off and on ?
I never feel anxious from it. It’s annoying though when it interferes with hearing.
Why are you anxious? Are you afraid it won’t get better? Or, some other reason? Are both ears blocked?
Yea it feels like it’s never going to get better, guess because it’s been weeks. Only one ear, and there are times I can’t pop the ear so I start to get anxiety.
@VikR105 I see. I have every confidence it will get better. It might reoccur now and then, and especially when you fly. But, it might not reoccur at all once it clears up. What you are going through is not unheard of, so try not to feel like in your case something has gone very wrong and won’t get better. I went through a few years where my left ear would block. It would happen for a few hours or few days and then go away sometimes for 6 months. It would happen for what seemd like no reason. It stopped happening over 15 years ago.
If you develop pain go to the doctor. If it doesn’t clear up you can obviously go to the doctor, but I doubt he can do something. I’m not in your body though, I can’t know what is really going on and I am not a doctor. Try chewing gum a couple times a day. A doctor recommended that to me.
You can also go to the smallest bathroom in your house, close all the doors and run the shower hot so the room steams up. Sit in there a couple minutes, blow your nose a few times. I do that before I shower for a few days when I have a congestion cold to help loosen any phlegm that might be hanging around. Your might just be inflamation though. The steam won’t hurt to try for a couple days.
@VikR105: How are you feeling? Any progress?
@JLeslie I think the anxiety comes from the overall stuffy feeling. Congestion sucks! You can feel slight pressure in your head, nose area, throat, chest and for a hypo condriac always monitoring their body they are trying to see what is going on. Sometimes it gets to a point where I question whether or not I am actually getting in a good breath of air!
@hearkat I’m feeling much better now , probably because my doctor changed my antibiotic and I switched to Zeritic now.
