Is it possible to still get an A in a class if you have a C mid-semester in high school?
I have a couple C’s and I want to get A’s in these classes. Is it still possible to get that if it is already mid-semester? Also, how difficult is it to raise a gpa of a 3.38 to a 3.5 in two semesters?

Th tsar question to ask your professor.
Yes, talk to the instructor(s) Some will say no many will work with you if you can “prove your worth” Ask how high they want you to jump. Then do it.
It completely depends on how the grading is set up for the class. If you have numerous tests/assignments coming up to make up for the lower grades, maybe you could pull off a low A. Don’t you have a syllabus to refer to for that information?
I got a C on my first Developmental Psychology exam this semester (my first C in college – gasp!) and, because we only have three grades all semester, my 4.0 streak will end during my final semester of school. Sad bad day.

I’m still in high school, and they don’t give syllabus’ like college classes do.
@sarahhughes1996 Then ask your teacher. I’ve been getting class syllabi since middle school.
This depends heavily on how your instructor weights each assignment. If you have had a few Cs on small assignments, but get an A on the big tests, then your grade average stands a chance at improving. You need to talk to your instructor about the grade distribution of the class, maybe ask for extra credit or make up work, and let them know that you have a strong interest in improving the grade as much as possible.
As for improving your overall GPA mid-semester, that is also dependent on grade distribution: how many heavily weighted assignments are left in your classes? What do your other grades look like? What are your chances at getting As in those classes?

Sure, try paying attention and bust your ass and it should be doable.
You might ask your instructor if you could do extra credit to raise your average.
You have to find out how things are weighted. If the second half counts the same as the first and you get a solid A in the second half then the net result would be a B. Usually teachers will weight the second half more heavily. Is there a final exam? That could make a big difference.
It depends on how the school does report cards.
I had a split class one year, got a high C in the first semester – the teacher was a misogynist. All the girls who elected that class got a C, because we should have been in home economics instead of technology. The guy was fired the next year.
The second semester was a wood and metal shop class that I was really good at, and the teacher was happy to give me extra credit assignments. I ended up passing that class with a 137% average.
Did me no good. Turns out the school did grades on a five point scale, and my high C and my ridiculously high A averaged to a B.
I did learn how to solder and make a dovetail joint, though.
Yes I had a D and brought it up too a A- just make sure to turn your work in and stuff.
It’s possible. Do ALL of your homework, behave in class, participate, and Ace every quiz and test you take.
