“The way a crow shook down on me,
The dust of snow from a hemlock tree,
Has given my heart a change of mood
And saved some part
of a day I had rued.” – Robert Frost
Also, playing with Frodo and talking to Jay.
Beating my mobile phone at Othello – three times in a row!
My brother came over to measure for a bit of remodling he will be doing. So I’m a step closer to getting it done!
Had a nice family get together today with my family and my aunt and uncle from Maryland. I’m blessed with an excellent family.
I got to play with a caracal kitten and a Geoffrey’s cat kitten today.
My day was brightened a lot by a long rehearsal for the play I am co-directing, and then it was enhanced just a little by coming home and being able to click “stop following” on a question here on Fluther.
It was kind of fun shopping for a new dishwasher which my landlady has offered to let me buy. She’s a great landlady.
The sun. It was a beautiful fall day today. I love October weather in Maine.
My daughter!
She just left after a fun visit.
We splurged on junk food, it was great! haha
Tacos and sodas and sharing funny personal videos and pictures from our week.
I got a ran across this:
Sweet dreams are made of cheese
Who am I to dis a brie?
And that halloween commercial to the tune of “Thrift Shop.” It should drive me up the wall, but “zombie hot dog” and “steampunk pickle” are such legitimately awesome costume ideas that I can’t be mad.
I went for long walk this morning, and the weather and the leaves were perfect. The painting I’m working on this week is coming along pretty well.
The wine I’m drinking right now was pretty cheap and it’s really good! It has depth and structure and sort of tastes like blackberries and espresso. Malbecs at this price are usually bland and oaky, but this one actually has a lot going on.
Milo here: Dimwitted Gail sent the wrong link in her question. This was @rooey’s work that made Gail laugh. My question is, “Who’s that exhibitionisitic dude who ruined my headshot?”
And here I am being attacked by Australian hissing pelicans. What did I ever do to them?
Home made hamburgers, bro! My roommate and I made some today, and they were great. They were all fat, and we packed them with so much stuff, I would have had to be a snake and unhinge my jaw to fit it in my mouth. We both had two, and I don’t think I’ll be hungry again for like, four days.
It was a damn fine meal.
My “good morning” call from my boyfriend. It’s only 9.40am here, not much else has happened yet!
Sometimes the time difference in a long distance relationship is a real obstacle to communication, but this morning, it created a very special moment. Boyfriend in the US can’t sleep. Son in Norway takes a break from Saturday morning cartoons to play him a lullaby. hashtag heartwarmed.
I saw a bunch of dogs, being walked by their owners this morning, on my way to Legoland.
@wildpotato That’s amazingly cool! Did you carve it yourself?
My morning was brightened by a new friend that said how much they liked hanging out and talking to me and that I am incredibly funny too. Yeah, laughing all the way to the poor house right now. haha
@Coloma Yep. It took about four hours. I love carving pumpkins.
@wildpotato You are very talented. I make a cute cat-o-lantern but it is not nearly that detailed.
^^ Yay! I hope that goes well.
@flip86 Nice! The fingers must have been difficult.
@Coloma Thank you.
@wildpotato The worst part was tracing the pattern onto the pumpkin. The carving was pretty simple. It took me about 45 minutes. I want to get another pumpkin and carve something a little more challenging.
@bob_
Can you see your sandwiches better now? lol
Today my daughter and I had a great, tears rolling down our cheeks, laugh when she put the inept AT&T tech support guy on speaker phone. haha
It was really good. The guy was hilarious!
