Have you seen the new Tom Hanks film, "Captain Phillips?"?

I’m a huge Tom Hanks fan, and his performance in the last two scenes of the movie had a profound effect on me. The young man who played the Somali “Captain” Muse was outstanding. Have you seen it? What did you think?

Yes, saw it. Really good film. Wasn’t excited about the subject matter and thought of waiting for the streaming release but overheard solid praises on Hanks and i’m a fan so I ended up watching.
The film has unrelenting momentum and was surprised to learn a few things about how big cargo ships are run, especially during a pirate attack. I’ve always thought about it as being ridiculous how small boats, even with guns, could catch huge ships. Now I know.
Been a fan of Hanks since Bachelor party and Splash and enjoyed him better with less serious roles. He is the perfect feel-good actor for me but not lately with his string of heavy dramatic performances.
@mazingerz88 He’s been doing the heavy dramatic performances for a while though, since ‘93.
