My 12 year old daughter just recently started hunting with a bow. Her Dad took her deer hunting this past weekend in a blind and he said her adrenaline rush made her do some weird things when she saw the deer. The first thing she started doing was uncontrollably talking and he kept trying to get her to be calm and quiet but she couldn’t stop. The second thing (this is the weird one) she kept making a clicking airy sound with her mouth after he finally got her to quit talking. He told her to quit doing that and she absolutely could not stop and didn’t seem to realize she was even doing this! My questions are- What do adrenaline rushes do to you specifically and do they cause temporary tics(like the mouth clicking)?

My eyelids move up and down with great rapidity. You could say they vibrate.
Doesn’t seem to impede my vision much though.
My hand might shake, I get antsy sitting still. And then I quickly get a headache and quickly go the other way.
It might not have been adrenaline, it might have just been a bit of anxiety and been a burst of norepinephirine, which some believe causes ADHD.
Tremors tachycardia hypertension
My biggest adrenaline rushes have been in times of danger, and each time I have been trembling so bad I could barely stand (once I was able to get to my feet, that is) but at the same time, it was like my brain knew that I had to remain extremely calm or I would kill myself….in each situation I reacted so well that after the fact, I couldn’t believe how well I had handled it. I have never had any experiences like the one you mentioned.
I’m Back!!! Lost the net for 24 hours! Really nobody uncontrollably clicking their tongues??? My daughter must be one of a kind! @thorninmud-That is pretty impressive you’ve remembered back to something from 2011!
I go into Hyper-drive. Instead of dissolving into a trembling lump, I am at the height of awareness and decisive thinking. I calmly take charge, with the idea that I will allow myself to have a nervous breakdown later, after the danger is passed. But then, later, I am still fine as the adrenalin seems to keep me on hyper-drive for a few days. I can expect not to be able to sleep for a night or two, as the wide-awake and ready to rumble feeling lasts for a while.
A sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. I hate ‘em.
