Or know anyone who has upgraded to a terabyte of HD memory? I’m considering the upgrade at the moment but I’d like to know others experiences with brands, reliability and what have you. I’ve only ever used SeaGate as my upgrade, mainly because it wasn’t as cheap as Western Digital and it wasn’t as expensive as Lacie. I own a Lacie back up HD and it’s sturdy and reliable.

Brand doesn’t really matter. I have 12TB of storage for a media server with different brands. Every brand fails for no reason. I don’t even bother reading reviews for hard drives. Some will fail right away and most eventually will.
Buy what is cheap and then buy another as a back-up.
I have, no problems or regrets. I have also considered ditching the optical drive so I can add another.
Anyone into solid state HDs?
I have a 128Gig Crucial M4 SSD as my boot drive in my hackintosh. Applications open pretty much instantly (even photoshop). I have a copy of my boot drive on a standard 7200RPM drive and when I boot from it I start to wonder if something is fucked up because it takes so long.
The SSD is the biggest advancement in computers in the last 5 years.
@johnpowell Damn 128… I’m thinking of some alternatives where I have something along those numbers for a boot but save all my files onto an external hard drive with the use of lightning bolt… I’ll have to look more into.
