I don’t have a clue what you are referring to.
But as a general rule, if I want couth, grace, politeness, and general good behavior, I wouldn’t look to find them in professional athletes.
Are you talking about when they press on one side of their nose and blow out the other side?
If so, I understand why your gagging! So, so foul. My ex husband used to do that and it made me sick.
I agree with @elbanditoroso, professional sports is not the ballet and expecting social graces in those arenas is expecting too much. Those athletes are working in very demanding physical conditions and have to do what they must to be ready to do the job.
One might hope that they cut to a camera that isn’t pointed at someone who is forcibly expelling nasal mucus. Yuck.
Saw a player do this on the first game of the World Series. Nice close up, dude! Must’ve been raised in a barnyard!!
They are in the middle of a game! I haven’t noticed any pockets in their uniforms in which to keep a handkerchief or tissue. Plus the fact that it takes time to get it out, blow and dispose of it. And how would they dispose of it?
It isn’t pleasant to see the process. Perhaps we should not have the games televised so you get every gory detail really up close. Or the photographer and TV producer should censor those shots. They probably do it on purpose.
Shut your eyes for those few seconds if you can.
Yes I do.
Now you know why the grass at Fenway is so green.
@Seek_Kolinahr Good point. The director could/should be cutting to some other camera to keep the aesthetics pleasant.
I still think it ain’t something the athletes should care about, if we want to watch them do their thing, that’s what they’re doing.
