Do you think there are benefits to being inhumane?
Why or why not and what are the benefits if there are any?
I would like to express my warmest appreciation to you.

No, not at all. You lack empathy. It encourages other cruel behavior. It is cruel and morally wrong.
Well…if you are a sociopath then the benefits are getting what you want at the expense of others. Otherwise no. Cruelty begets more cruelty and perpetuates a cycle of suffering that is not in the best interest of our evolution as individuals or as a species.
Cooperation serves the greater good, inhumane behavior serves the self.
Not in the long run. You might get what you want if you are prepared to sell your own grandmother, but you will miss out on real friends and the support of a family.
No, not at all, not ever. I think maybe you might be trying to ask a slightly different question such as the following:
Is there ever a reason to kill another person, or to end the life of a person or an animal, or to purposely injure someone?
With a question worded like that, there will be more nuanced answers.
^^ I hope that is not what you’re asking. If it is, I’m changing my answer to a resounding, NO!
@longgone I’m not sure what the OP is asking (or why) but there are some answers to the Q the way I worded it, that are acceptable to me and probably to other people.
Examples would be euthanasia for people who have asked for it well in advance of any horrible excruciating condition they may have acquired, or putting down an animal that is sick and suffering when there is no other treatment available to help, or pulling the plug on someone who is brain dead, or shooting or tazering a criminal to so that they can’t harm anyone else.
^^ Hm, okay. You’re right, I did not read your question carefully. Those examples are all acceptable to me (in general). I would not call them inhumane. Thanks for pointing that out! I really would like to know what exactly the OP is asking.
Me too, it did seem oddly worded. ^^
(She never comes back to questions or answers pms which is why I asked my question.)
Inhumane, no. Emotionally anesthetized maybe.
Cruelty seems to be a remnant of our hunter-gatherers past, which shaped the human brain. Survival often was a brutal business, especially for the hunting animals part. Yet it was also cooperation that selected cooperative groups over non-cooperative ones.
The cruelty is part of us and the best we can do to tame it is exercise, play against someone (sports or board game), watch sports events, read crime novels, and watch action movies (without graphic display of murders). This satisfies our violent needs and no one gets hurt.
