Asked by Amo101 (151points) October 27th, 2013

Why is it when a girl gets dumped or heartbroken they tend to change more on the bad side.

That’s an incredibly sweeping generalization (as well as vague). Change how, exactly?

I’m not sure what you mean by change more on the bad side.

When someone gets dumped, it’s usually somewhat painful for the dumpee, so they usually grieve, maybe cry and scream and complain about the pain for awhile. Then they usually try to be slightly different than they were before, thinking that it might have been something within their actions or personality, that led to them being dumped.

Whether that girl ends up doing things that seem more on the bad side (still not sure what you mean by that) or doing things that might be more positive, are purely personal and are quite different for each person.

Now, tell us what you really mean? What happened? Are you the person who got dumped? Are you the person who did the dumping? Or has one of your friends been dumped, or have they dumped someone?

Because the clothes start to smell at some point.

That’s sort of a wide-open question. People change, but not every person changes in the same way, in the same situation.

Mostly people change because they learn. Sometimes they learn the wrong things.

@Amo101 I have to agree that the question is overly broad and the details contain generalizations that are true in some instances and most definitely not true in others. Getting jilted or dumped is likely to have an impact on any rational person. It hurts, and we don’t want to keep doing something we know hurt us the last time we tried it. So naturally we change in some way, but certainly not always for the worse.

I would like to turn the question around on you. How could humans NOT change?

Human’s change because they age and because they learn.

During different stages of life, people learn things from different experiences. These different experiences(good or bad) teaches them how to deal with changes in their life.

How can they not change, they never live in a vacuum? I think when someone tries to be good and then gets their heart broken, they may think well screw it, if being good gets me hurt I’m going to be bad and see how that feels. Is that what you were looking for?

Because experience has an affect. Some people are ill equipped to handle baggage and some types are easier for an individual to handle then another.

Truth is the core hardly ever changes. So you look at that uncover it and you may be less resentful and have more enpathy for those that are in pain.

Because of the things that happen to them. Sometime good could make a person be happy and love life. Something bad could make someone angry, depressed, etc.
