My ears are bleeding just thinking about Kenny G songs. I ain’t got no favorites.
I forget the name of it. It is the one where he doesn’t actually play. Instead, it is just 5 minutes of the sound of someone standing on Kenny G’s throat.
Did he ever cover John Cage’s 4’33”? If so, that would be my favorite.
@chyna – No one has suggested that he sings… why do you ask that?
@hearkat Because the question asks about the all time Kenny G song. I don’t know him well enough to know if he sings also.
Why do you ask?
Instrumental pieces of music are also called songs. I was just trying to understand what might have given you the impression that he sings, because I didn’t see any mention of singing or vocals, and I thought I might have missed something (because I don’t follow his work enough to know if he’s ever sung, either).
Sorry @hearkat, @chyna is right. If there’s no singing, it ain’t a song. ;)
I love Forever In Love But none of Kenny G’s CD’s do him justus as he is absolutely magnificent in his live performances.
I enjoy instrumental easy listening from time to time, and I’m sure I’ve heard plenty of Kenny G, but I couldn’t name a piece. I do love a good bit of saxophone.
Mine is Forever in Love although majority of his songs are amazing. This one reminds me of good moments of my life during which I was listening to this song.
Not a big fan but Songbird is not unpleasant.
You can’t beat a well-played tenor sax – and Kenny G ain’t it.
@ucme That makes you a very lucky man indeed. lol
@Katniss That’s the feeling i’m getting here, cheesy bastard is he?
@Katniss Fuck me sideways, I bailed out just as he put the sax to his lips.
I like the brief silence between the songs
@ucme Hahahaha!! Good thinking!
Although I’m a big fan of Jazz music and I did like the songs Silhouette and Songbird when I first heard them, I don’t much care for Kenny G’s style of saxophone playing any more. It sounds too tinny and repetitious too often stemming from his primary instrument being a Soprano saxophone. There are many Tenor saxophonists in the Jazz scene today that just make better music, in my humble opinion.
