Is there a game like the Oregon Trail for space colonization?

Spaceward Ho comes to mind. It was an old PC strategy game from the early 90s, and has recently been re-released on Android (and presumably iphone as well. It’s simple but fun, I love it.

It is slightly harder than Oregon Trail but it is pretty much the same thing.

Personally, I liked Galactic Civilizations II, but it’s a pretty deep game; it makes Masters of Orion 2 look like Tic-tac-toe.
