How do I connect "Jack" to H2 drummachine?

I get this message at the opening of the program: “Jack driver: error in port register”, which blocks me from editing the sequences i’ve composed and making new ones.
I haven’t a clue what to do and the forum language is too cryptic for my current understanding.
