Is it too early to plan for the weekend?

Asked by Hawaii_Jake (37748points) November 6th, 2013

It’s Wednesday here on this side of the world. Is that too early to begin thinking of the weekend?

What are you doing this weekend?

I’m opening this play. I’m over the moon about it and very excited.

Leading a hike for my walking group on Saturday and going with another group on a hike with dogs on Sunday. No evening plans as yet.

Oh yes – and break a leg, Jake!

Yay! Break a leg! Preferably not your own.

Considering hitting the Sarasota Medieval Faire this weekend.

This weekend is theatrical joust. Next two weekends are full-contact joust. Trying to decide if I’m more interested in historical representation (theatrical) or watching dudes get pummeled with real, uncompromised lances (full-contact)

It’s never too early to plan for the weekend. Let’s pick a weekend next May and plan for it. Looking forward is part of the fun.

Congratulations on your opening, Jake, and best wishes. Or break a leg, whichever you prefer.

Jake, this is fabulous. How fun! Were I to live in Hawaii, I would absolutely attend to support your art.

I always think the time to plan anything is when the inspiration hits. Who cares what day it is? At this moment, I have no idea what I’m doing this weekend.

Have an absolutely fabulous opening!

I will be heading home after a stressful week on the road. I should be home around midnight on Friday. I’ll take it easy for 2 days then the treadmill will start again.

I can’t keep this up much longer.

Your play looks like it will be damn-fine, Jake. When time allows, please let us know how it went.

(and the actress Catherine McPherson is….??)

I have a date on Saturday that I planned last week! No. never too early!

One should live to plan the weekend!! I don’t normally plan too much as I depend on the weather being OK. I know where you live you have good weather all day everyday?

I am planning on going to Mary Kings Close the most haunted street in the world. Or in Scotland. I can’t wait.

@LornaLove I live in a rain forest. Our average annual rainfall exceeds 3 meters.

Break a leg, @Hawaii_Jake!

One of my oldest friends is visiting from out-of-state so we’re hanging out together on Friday.

My fiancé and I are going to see these two plays on Saturday, and I am SOOOO excited!

Sunday, we’ll go to yoga (depending on how late we get home Saturday night) and vegetate. Oh, and laundry… there’s always laundry.

Monday at the local state art museum.

Saturday Veteran parade at the local Army Base.

Sunday we are thinking about a trip to the beach.

Break a leg, @Hawaii_Jake!

No plans made yet. Most likely will stay at home and wait for new week.

@Hawaii_Jake Cool, good luck! :)

It’s never to early to plan for the weekend! I’m going to dinner Friday night to a new restaurant that just opened up. Maybe the movies on Saturday, if my boyfriend wants to see Carrie.

How exciting! Here’s wishing you full houses and fantastic reviews.

I’ll be ferrying my youngest back and forth to multiple homecoming festivities this weekend. Her boyfriend is going to be blown away when he sees her in that dress. :)

@Valerie111 Even I was planning to see “Carrie” this weekend. Last week I happened to see “Possession” and “Dead silence”. That Mary Shaw and her dolls scared the hell outta me!

Valerie111's avatar

@Smitha I saw Dead Silence a couple of year ago and it still stuck with me. There is something so scary about possessed dolls. That movie had a pretty good story line.

OK then, Jake…..the weekend is over.

How was your play ??

Hawaii_Jake's avatar

@OneBadApple My play was “f**king fabulous,” as the former music director of Saturday Night Live told us. We are lucky that she retired a number of years ago and moved from NYC to here.

Other people described it as “riveting,” “peaceful,” and “saturated in the human condition.” I described the production as “the heartbeat of the art of theatre.”

I’m wandering a bit aimlessly today with no rehearsal or performance to anticipate.

Well, it’s on to the next big show. I’m directing Antony and Cleopatra for my group’s Shakespeare in the Park next summer. Planning is already well under way.

OneBadApple's avatar

I’m pretty sure that “f**king fabulous” is the highest rating you can achieve.

Congrats, man !!

Now, ONWARD to….

The barge she sat in, like a burnish’d throne,
Burnt on the water; the poop was beaten gold;

( It’s in there…..you could look it up !! )

Hawaii_Jake's avatar

Yes, @OneBadApple, I know where that is taken from without looking it up, and I know who says it. :-) I am directing the play. I have read it more times than I can honestly remember.

OneBadApple's avatar

OK, I thought that you probably would know.

Anyway, listen. If I take the Mrs. to Hawaii next summer and attend your show, don’t go all ‘big time’ on me and pretend that you don’t know me, OK ?

I’m from New York and THAT would not end well, my friend….

Hawaii_Jake's avatar

“I’m sorry. Who are you?”

OneBadApple's avatar

….......Son of a BITCH !!.....I KNEW IT !!

One great stage review and the rest of us turn into chimney sweeps…
